Vehicle and Transport Policy
1. Purpose
To ensure safe, efficient, and compliant use of vehicles and transport resources within Mototolo Platinum Mine operations, protecting personnel, assets, and the environment.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all company-owned, leased, or contracted vehicles, as well as private vehicles used for official Mototolo business, and all drivers and transport operators on site.
3. Vehicle Use

Vehicles shall be used strictly for authorized business purposes.

Personal use of company vehicles is prohibited unless explicitly approved.

All vehicle operators must hold a valid driving license appropriate for the vehicle type.
4. Driver Responsibilities

Drivers must adhere to all road safety laws and site-specific traffic rules.

Drivers shall conduct pre-use vehicle inspections and report any defects immediately.

Use of seat belts is mandatory for all occupants at all times.

Use of mobile phones or other distractions while driving is prohibited unless hands-free.
5. Vehicle Maintenance

Regular maintenance and servicing schedules must be followed to ensure vehicle safety and reliability.

Defective or unsafe vehicles must be reported and taken out of service until repaired.

Records of vehicle inspections, repairs, and maintenance must be maintained.
6. Speed Limits and Site Driving Rules

All vehicles must observe posted speed limits and site-specific traffic signs.

Pedestrian right of way must be respected.

Parking is only permitted in designated areas.
7. Transport of Hazardous Materials

Transport of hazardous or flammable materials must comply with HAZMAT/HAZCHEM regulations.

Vehicles carrying hazardous materials must display appropriate signage and have necessary emergency equipment.
8. Contractor and Third-Party Vehicles

All contractor vehicles must comply with Mototolo vehicle standards and be pre-approved before site access.

Contractors must provide valid documentation, including licenses, insurance, and vehicle inspections.
9. Incident Reporting

All vehicle-related incidents, accidents, or near misses must be reported immediately to site Safety and Transport management.

An investigation will be conducted to determine causes and implement corrective actions.
10. Unauthorized Use

Unauthorized use of vehicles or misuse of transport resources may result in disciplinary action or contract termination.
11. Environmental Considerations

Efforts must be made to reduce emissions and fuel consumption, including vehicle idling limits and route planning.

Vehicles must be operated to minimize environmental impact in accordance with company sustainability commitments.
