1. Purpose

To ensure the responsible, efficient, and safe use of utilities and equipment at Mototolo Platinum Mine offices and facilities, minimizing waste and damage while supporting operational effectiveness.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and visitors using utilities and equipment within Mototolo Platinum Mine premises.

3. Responsibilities

  • Employees and Users:

    • Use utilities (electricity, water, gas) and equipment (computers, machinery, office devices) responsibly and only for authorized purposes.

    • Turn off equipment and utilities when not in use to conserve resources.

    • Report any faults, damages, or unsafe conditions immediately to Facilities or IT departments.

    • Avoid unauthorized modifications or repairs of equipment.

  • Facilities and IT Management:

    • Maintain and service equipment and utility systems regularly.

    • Monitor utility consumption and investigate unusual usage patterns.

    • Provide training on proper usage and safety protocols.

4. Utility

  • Minimize electricity consumption by turning off lights, computers, and other devices when not in use.

  • Use water sparingly and report leaks or malfunctions promptly.

  • Follow safety procedures when using gas or other utilities.

5. Equipment Usage

  • Use office and operational equipment as intended and according to manufacturer guidelines.

  • Ensure computers and electronic devices are secured with passwords and used following IT policies.

  • Avoid eating or drinking near sensitive equipment to prevent damage.

6. Prohibited Actions

  • Unauthorized installation or connection of electrical devices.
