1. Purpose
To ensure all employees, contractors, and suppliers possess the necessary certifications to operate safely, comply with legal requirements, and uphold Mototolo Platinum Mine’s commitment to health, safety, environmental stewardship, and industry standards.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all personnel and entities involved in operations at Mototolo Platinum Mine, including contractors, subcontractors, and third-party service providers.
3. Policy Statement
Mototolo Platinum Mine mandates valid, up-to-date Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT/HAZCHEM), and industry-specific certifications as a prerequisite for work authorization and site access.

5. Certification Validity and Renewal

All certifications must be current and valid.

Personnel must provide proof of renewal prior to expiration to maintain site access and work eligibility.

Human Resources and HSE departments will track certification expiry dates and notify individuals and management for timely renewals.
6. Verification and Documentation

Copies of all certifications must be submitted to the Human Resources and HSE departments before commencement of duties.

Original documents may be requested for verification.

Contractors and suppliers must submit certification documentation as part of prequalification and onboarding.
7. Non-Compliance

Failure to maintain valid certifications will result in denial of site access or suspension of work activities until compliance is achieved.

Persistent non-compliance may lead to termination of contracts or employment.
8. Responsibilities

Employees and Contractors: Maintain and renew all required certifications timely.

Managers: Ensure team members hold necessary certifications for assigned tasks.

Human Resources: Maintain centralized records and assist in monitoring certification status.

HSE Department: Oversee compliance, provide training support, and liaise on certification requirements.
9. Policy Review
This policy shall be reviewed annually or as required to reflect legislative changes, operational needs, or industry best practices.
