EMPLOYMENT POLICIES

1. Code of Conduct

All employees at Mototolo Platinum Mine are expected to uphold the highest standards of professional and ethical behavior. The following principles guide employee conduct:

  • Integrity and Honesty: Employees must act truthfully and responsibly in all duties.

  • Respect and Inclusivity: Discrimination, harassment, and intimidation are strictly prohibited. All individuals must be treated with dignity and fairness.

  • Confidentiality: Sensitive company information, including operational data, safety records, and personnel matters, must be protected at all times.

  • Compliance: Employees must comply with all internal policies, operational protocols, and applicable South African laws and industry regulations.

  • Conflict of Interest: Employees must avoid situations where personal interests conflict with the interests of the company.

  • Substance Policy: Mototolo maintains a zero-tolerance policy for alcohol or illicit substance use on-site.

Violations may lead to disciplinary action, including termination and legal recourse where applicable.


2. Working Hours & Attendance

To ensure optimal performance and safety, the following working hour and attendance standards apply:

  • Standard Shift Patterns:

    • Underground Operations: 06:00 – 18:00 or per department schedule.

    • Surface Operations and Support Services: 08:00 – 17:00.

  • Attendance Monitoring: All employees are required to report on duty punctually and sign in via the site’s biometric system.

  • Absenteeism: Unauthorised absence or habitual tardiness is subject to disciplinary review.

  • Leave Management: All leave must be pre-approved and recorded through the HR system. Emergency leave must be reported to the line manager immediately.


3. Dress Code

To maintain safety and professionalism, the dress code is as follows:

  • Operational Areas:

    • Full PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) must be worn at all times, including hard hats, high-visibility clothing, safety boots, gloves, and eye protection.

    • PPE must be maintained in good condition and replaced when damaged.

  • Office/Admin Areas:

    • Smart casual attire is expected. Clothing must be neat, clean, and appropriate for a business setting.

    • The wearing of branded uniforms, where applicable, is encouraged to foster team identity.

  • Prohibited Items:

    • Clothing with offensive graphics or text

    • Open-toe shoes or sandals in operational zones

    • Excessive jewellery or accessories that may pose safety risks
