BRANDING GUIDELINES

Applies To: All internal departments, external vendors, suppliers, consultants, and marketing agencies.


1. PURPOSE

To preserve and project a consistent, professional, and legally protected brand image of Mototolo Platinum Mine and its parent company Valterra Platinum, this document outlines the official branding standards. These guidelines apply to all visual, written, digital, and promotional communications.


2. BRAND ESSENCE

  • Brand Name: Mototolo Platinum Mine

  • Company Name: MPLATS ENTERPRISE (PTY) LTD

  • Parent Brand: Valterra Platinum

  • Tagline (if applicable): A Cornerstone in Responsible Platinum Mining

  • Core Themes: Safety, Sustainability, Excellence, Integrity, Progress


3. LOGO USAGE

  • Primary Logo: Only the approved high-resolution logo files must be used.

  • Formats Allowed: .AI, .SVG, .PNG (transparent), .JPG for internal use

  • Minimum Size: Logos must not be reproduced smaller than 30mm wide for print.

  • Clear Space: Maintain a minimum clear space equal to the height of the "M" in "Mototolo" around the logo.

  • Alterations: Do not stretch, crop, recolour, add effects, or modify the logo in any way.

  • Secondary Logo (Monochrome): Only to be used on black & white documents or where printing restrictions apply.

5. TYPOGRAPHY

Primary Typeface:

  • Print & Web: Arial or Helvetica

  • Headings: Bold, 14–20pt

  • Body Text: Regular, 11–12pt

  • Spacing: 1.5 line height preferred

Secondary Typeface (if design permits):

  • Roboto or Open Sans (web-optimized environments)


6. STATIONERY & DOCUMENTS

  • All letters, quotations, reports, and RFQs must use the official company letterhead template.

  • File Naming Convention: DocumentType_Dept_YYYYMMDD_Version.docx/pdf

  • Email Signatures must include:

    • Full Name

    • Job Title

    • Company Name

    • Email, Tel, and Website

    • Confidentiality Disclaimer


7. EMAIL AND DIGITAL ASSETS

  • Email Templates should maintain consistent headers, footers, and formatting.

  • Social Media Graphics must be approved by the Corporate Affairs team.

  • Presentation Decks must use the approved PowerPoint template with correct branding.


8. THIRD-PARTY USAGE

  • Vendors or partners must request written permission to use the company’s branding.

  • Any co-branded material (e.g., promotional flyers, joint projects) must be reviewed by the Branding Officer or Corporate Affairs team before distribution.


9. BRAND INTEGRITY

  • Any misuse of the brand may result in legal action or internal disciplinary processes.

  • Intellectual property such as logos, slogans, designs, and visual identity are protected by South African trademark and copyright law.
